Antioch Rivertown Veteran Lions Club donate supplies to Belshaw Elementary School with Grant from CLF

Antioch Rivertown Veteran Lions Club purchased the Second Step Program materials for all the classes at Belshaw Elementary School (Kindergarten through Fifth Grade) with the $1,000 grant from the California Lions Foundation.

Antioch Rivertown Veterans Lions Club presented the puppets, posters, folders, and class materials to the Vice Principal Jessica Erickson. "The teachers were very excited to have their own set of materials to deliver the classroom lessons!” Said Vice Principal Jessica Erickson “First grade teachers were especially excited about the puppets, and we have seen students all over campus using their folders! The posters are also up in the classrooms as daily reminders and reinforcements of what the kiddos have been learning during the social/emotional lessons.“

Antioch Rivertown Veterans Lions Club has an ongoing relationship with Belshaw Elementary School, through the pandemic providing them with reusable masks, backpacks, and school supplies. This has been another way to provide the teachers with the tools they need to work with the students to improve their social / emotional experience which allows for greater learning during these challenging times.
