San Diego United Lions Club donates chicken and a check to the San Diego Food Bank

The San Diego United Lions Club with a grant from CLF donated 918 lbs. of canned chicken breast and a check for $1100 to the San Diego Food Bank to help combat food insecurity in San Diego.

Thank you to the California Lions Foundation (CLF) for the award of the $1000 Feed the Hungry Grant. The CLF grant enabled San Diego United Lions Club (SDULC) to have a much larger positive impact in the fight against food insecurity than we could have accomplished on our own. Your Feed the Hungry grant was also timely in coinciding with the CA Lions Care Project: Hunger.

District 4-L6 Lions, friends and SD Food Bank CEO Jim Floros give a thumbs up to our partnership to combat food insecurity in San Diego. The San Diego United Lions Club (SDULC) $1100 check presented to SD FB is in the front of the pallet. The pallet contains 918 lbs. of canned chicken breast donated by SDULC as part of CA Lions Care Project: Hunger that was primarily funded by a $1000 California Lions Foundation Feed the Hungry Grant. After this photo op, volunteers completed a two hour shift to bag 6500 lbs. of apples for distribution to SD FB clients.

Three Lions Clubs and friends joined together with SD Food Bank to combat food insecurity. 24 person hours of volunteer support contributed to 6500 lbs. of apples being bagged for distribution to food insecure clients in the San Diego area.
